False starts can at best yield poor results. And worse, be a disaster when selling your home.

I went to preview a new listing that according to the listing agent remarks was vacant with the lock box outside. Turns out there was no lock box.

Because it was a new listing it was somewhat understandable that perhaps they had not yet visited the property to place the lock box. I called the agent to make other arrangements.

I’m still waiting for the call back, now almost 24 hours later.

Except for Acts of God, this should never happen to one of our listings. There are many such False Start conditions that damage a sale, and this is just one example.
